Cleaning Your Leather

Farnam Leather New Deep Conditioner 32oz

Farnam Leather New Deep Conditioner 32oz

For many of us it is that time of year that we dedicate time for that annual cleaning of the tack room! For me, it is a wonderful time to get my hands full of leather conditioner and just enjoy the process! So, today, I began my annual “cleaning of the leather”. I use a bucket of water and a small tack sponge. Since the leather will absorb the water don’t leave much water in the sponge. It will take some elbow grease to remove the dirt and sweat from the leather. Once the dirt and grime is gone, use a good leather conditioner and work it into the leather. Just remember that leather does mildew and you need a good cleaning to prevent that. There are many leather cleaners and conditioners on the market and you will find the one you like by trial and error. I recommend Farnam Leather New. Farnam will speed new leather break-in, and it will stop mold and mildew. You will not find any silicone, waxes or petroleum distillates in Farnam Leather New. I like my leather to feel clean and not be sticky to the touch. So with that said, I look forward to tomorrow when I walk into my barn and have my senses flooded with that wonderful smell of clean leather! You know, it really is the little things in life! Speeds new leather break-in. 32 oz. $7.49
